1. Buccal bone loss at tooth 11: Accessory lateral canal
Tooth 11 exhibits a history of access cavity preparation. The buccal cortical plate adjacent to the coronal half of the root of this tooth has been lost. There is a radiolucent line in the mid root level, which extends from the root canal of this tooth to the buccal surface of the root. This is suggestive of the presence of an accessory lateral canal. This suggests the endodontic origin of the buccal bone loss associated with this tooth. The periapical periodontal ligament space of this tooth is widened.
Axial views of tooth 11
These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the loss of the buccal cortical plate adjacent to the coronal half of the root of tooth 11. Note the presence of a accessory canal extending from the root canal of this tooth to the buccal surface of the root in this area.
Mesiodistal views of tooth 11
These mesiodistal cross-sectional images demonstrate the normal appearance of the alveolar bone along the mesial and distal surfaces of the root of tooth 11.
Buccolingual views of tooth 11
These buccolingual cross-sectional images demonstrate the presence of a radiolucent line which extends from the root canal to the root surface of tooth 11. Note the loss of the buccal cortical plate adjacent to this area.
Periodontal bone loss
Mild horizontal periodontal bone loss is present on the maxillary teeth captured in this review.
2. Open margin on tooth 14DB
An open margin may be present at the distobuccal restoration on tooth 14.
