Normal bone pattern at posterior second quadrant
The bone in the posterior second quadrant appears normal radiographically and has a density that is similar to that of the adjacent trabecular bone.
1. Retained root fragment at site 27
A retained root fragment is present at site 27. The periodontal ligament space surrounding the retained fragment appears normal. No periapical pathology is present, but removal would be required if regional implant placement was planned.
2. Widened PDL space at tooth 24P
The periodontal ligament space is slightly widened around the palatal root of tooth 24, which is suggestive of mild clinical mobility. No periapical pathology is present.
Normal bone at site 32
The bone at site 32 has a normal radiographic appearance with a density that is similar to that of the adjacent trabecular bone.
Orthogonal measurements at site 32
These orthogonal cross-sectional images demonstrate the mesiodistal and buccolingual dimensions at site 32. The roots of the adjacent teeth 33 and 31 are relatively parallel.
Healed socket preservation at sites 36 and 37
The socket preservation at sites 36 and 37 has healed normally, and exhibits a homogeneous granular bone with a density that is higher than the contiguous trabecular bone. The crestal bone has almost completely re-established.
3. Radiopaque fragment at site 47
A small radiopaque fragment is embedded within the crestal aspect of the alveolar process at site 47. This most likely represents a focus of restorative material, which is an incidental finding and should not impede the implant placement at this site.
Healing extraction sockets in posterior fourth quadrant
The extraction sockets in the posterior fourth quadrant are healing normally and have a density that is slightly lower than that of the adjacent trabecular bone. The surrounding bone is sclerotic, but this is a non-significant incidental finding.
4. Mucous retention cysts in both maxillary sinuses
Small mucous retention cysts are present in both maxillary sinuses. This is an incidental finding with no clinical significance.
Sagittal views of the left maxillary sinus: No impediments for sinus lift surgery
These sagittal cross-sectional images demonstrate a small mucous retention cyst in the left maxillary sinus, which is not an impediment for sinus lift surgery. There is no evidence of a potential transverse septum in the left maxillary sinus.
Sagittal views of the right maxillary sinus: No impediment for sinus lift surgery
These sagittal cross-sectional images demonstrate a small retention pseudocyst along the posterolateral wall of the right maxillary sinus, which are not impediments for sinus lift surgery. There is no evidence of a potential transverse septum in the right maxillary sinus.
5. Dystrophic calcifications in facial skin
Dystrophic calcifications are present in the subcutaneous tissues overlying the chin. This is a non-significant incidental finding.
Orthogonal views of CAD/CAM lateral window sinus lift guide
The implants were planned as usual, and a sinus lifting guide was designed to optimize the position and shape of the window. This allows the sinus lift to be planned around septa, with the final implant positions in mind
