Normal sites 11 and 12

Sites 11 and 12 appear normal radiographically. No intraosseous pathology is present.

Periodontal bone loss

Generalized moderate horizontal periodontal bone loss is present. Severe bone loss is evident on teeth 36, 38, and 48. Furcal involvement is evident on tooth 36.

1. Rarefying osteitis on tooth 27MB

The mesiobuccal root apex of tooth 27 exhibits a small focus of rarefying osteitis. This may reflect a site of early endodontic pathology. Vitality testing and clinical evaluation is indicated.

2. Condylus tertius + cervical degenerative joint disease

A bony process emanates from the anterior rim of the foramen magnum, and articulates with the tip of the odontoid process and the anterior arch of C1. This reflects a developmental anomaly known as condylus tertius, which is typically an incidental finding. Osteophyte formation extends along the anterosuperior aspect of the anterior arch of C1 and subchondral sclerosis is evident within the odontoid process of C2, which reflects concomitant osteophyte formation related to degenerative joint disease.

3. Elongated styloid processes

The styloid processes are elongated bilaterally. This is an incidental finding with no significance.
