Site 21: Inadequate bone

A 4x13mm cylinder was overlaid on the adjacent images at site 21. Inadequate bone exists for this cylinder to be fully embedded at this site without additional bone augmentation.

Site 22: Inadequate bone

A 4x13mm cylinder was overlaid on the adjacent images at site 22. Inadequate bone exists for this cylinder to be fully embedded at this site without additional bone augmentation.

Site 23: Inadequate bone

A 4x13mm cylinder was overlaid on the adjacent images at site 23. Inadequate bone exists for this cylinder to be fully embedded at this site without additional bone augmentation.

1. Internal root resorption on tooth 21

Tooth 21 exhibits internal resorption in the apical third of its root.

2. Rarefying osteitis on tooth 21

Tooth 21 exhibits periapical rarefying osteitis that has extended distally into the cleft region.

3. Axial slices of the oro-nasal cleft

These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the extent of the cleft in the anterior second quadrant. The defect is much wider buccally than it is palatally.

4. Antral pseudocyst in left maxillary sinus

An antral pseudocyst is present on the anterior floor of the left maxillary sinus. This is an incidental finding.

Measurements of cleft

These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the cleft measurements at 1 mm slice intervals. The buccal aspect of the cleft is approximately 15 mm wide and the palatal aspect of the cleft is approximately 6 mm wide.

Orthogonal views of cleft

These orthogonal cross-sectional images demonstrate the hourglass-shaped cleft dimensions in the region of the alveolar process.

Bone graft volume estimation: 1.3cc

A graft volume estimation was made using Simplant. Approximately 1.3 cc of graft material was required to fill the cleft.
