Tooth 18 is impacted, and exhibits two crowns originating from a single root. The follicle surrounding the crowns of the tooth appears normal. No damage has occurred to tooth 17. The root of tooth 18 is fully formed and has a dilacerated appearance. No signs of ankylosis are present

Axial views of tooth 18

These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the two malformed geminatins and crowns of tooth 18, as well as the single root of the tooth. Note the uniform periodontal ligament space around the root of the tooth, as well as the normal overall appearance of the follicle.

Mesiodistal views of posterior first quadrant

These mesiodistal cross sectional images demonstrate the dilacerated root of tooth 18, the apical of any damage of tooth 17, and the geminating crowns of tooth 18.

Tooth 28 is a morphologic variant with three geminated crowns originating from a single root. The follicle surrounding the crowns of tooth 28 appears normal. No damage has occurred to the distal surface of tooth 27. The root of tooth 28 exhibits a prominent curve.

Axial views of tooth 28

These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the normal appearance of the follicle surrounding the crown's of tooth 28, as well as the absence of any effect of tooth 28 upon tooth 27. The malformed appearance of the geminating tooth 28 is evident in these images.

Mesiodistal views of posterior first quadrant

These mesiodistal cross sectional images demonstrate the normal appearance of the distal surface of tooth 27, the geminated crowns of tooth 28, and the prominent curve in the root of tooth 28.
