1. Vertical bone loss at tooth 33D: Lateral canal present
Vertical bone loss is present at the distal surface of tooth 33. The epicenter of this bone loss is a visible lateral canal on the distal surface of the root of the tooth at the midroot level. This unobturated canal is the source of the bone loss. Tooth 33 exhibits a history of apical surgery. The bone surrounding the apical surgical obturation appears normal, which is indicative of a healed periapical bone pattern. No signs of fracture are present in tooth 33.
