Axial views of tooth 16
These axial cross sectional images demonstrate the unfilled MB2 canal in tooth 16, as well as the incompletely obturated palatal root apex. The source of the rarefying osteitis at the distobuccal root apex is not radiographically evident.
Sagittal views of posterior first quadrant
These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the normal appearances of teeth 15 and 17, as well as the periapical epicenter of the rarefying osteitis associated with the mesiobuccal root of tooth 16.
Coronal views of tooth 16
These coronal cross-sectional images demonstrate the presence of rarefying osteitis at all of the root apices of tooth 16.
