Site 34: Adequate bone
A 4x12mm cylinder was overlaid on the adjacent images at site 34. Adequate bone exists for implant placement at this site.
1. Failing implant 35
Implant 35 exhibits peri-implant bone loss on all of its surfaces. The surrounding bone is sclerotic. This radiographic appearance is consistent with a failing implant.
The buccal surface of the implant at site 35 is in close proximity to the left mandibular nerve. However, the implant has not impinged upon the nerve.
Sagittal views of mid 3rd quadrant
These sagittal cross-sectional images demonstrate the normal osseointegration around implant 32, as well as the radiolucent region of bone loss around implant 35.
Axial views of anterior third quadrant
These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the normal appearances of implants 41, 43, and 32. The bone loss around the surface of implant 35 is evident in these images, as is the lingual position of the implant apex relative to the mandibular canal.
Coronal views of implant 35
These coronal cross-sectional images demonstrate the lingual position of the implant 35 relative to the mental foramen and mandibular nerve. The bone loss that surrounds this implant is evident in these images.
