1. Healing former simple bone cyst in third quadrant

A well defined region of granular bone with a radiopaque central nidus is present in the periapical regions of teeth 33 and 34. The periphery of this entity is delicately corticated and has not caused any significant effects on the surrounding structures. The periodontal ligament spaces remain intact around the periapical regions of teeth 33 and 34. The overall absence of any effect on the surrounding structures, coupled with the patient's age, is suggestive of a healing simple bone cyst. This is a non-significant incidental finding.

Axial views of mid-third quadrant

These axial cross sectional images demonstrate the slight endosteal scalloping of the alveolar process by the healing simple bone cyst. The appearance of uniform granular bone within a healing simple bone cyst is a characteristic feature of the entity. Note the maintenance of the lamina dura and periodontal ligament space around the apical third of the root of tooth 33, which is also supportive of the diagnosis.

Coronal views of mid-third quadrant

These coronal cross sectional images demonstrate the absence of any buccolingual expansion of the alveolar process by the healing simple bone cyst apical to teeth 33 and 34.

Sagittal views of mid-third quadrant

These sagittal cross sectional images demonstrate the absence of any effects of the healing simple bone cyst on the adjacent teeth.
