Generalized periodontal bone loss

There is generalized mild to moderate horizontal bone loss involving the imaged dentition.

1. Abrasions on teeth 33, 34

Abrasions are present along the buccal surfaces of teeth 33 and 34, at the levels of their cemento-enamel junctions.

2. Dense bone island at site 46

A dense bone island is present in the alveolar bone of site 46. This dense bone island demonstrates no effects on its surrounding structures. This is a non-significant incidental finding, and should not impede regional implant placement.

3. Hypoplastic left maxillary sinus + mild mucositis

The left maxillary sinus appears hypoplastic in comparison to the contralateral side, but appears otherwise normal. The sinus walls are intact and demonstrate a relatively contour. Mild mucosal thickening is evident in the anterior aspect of the left maxillary sinus, which is a non-significant incidental finding.

4. Transverse ridge apical to tooth 28

A transverse ridge is present along the floor of the maxillary sinus apical to tooth 28, which may impede a sinus lift procedure in this region.

5. Transverse ridge apical to tooth 18

A transverse ridge is present along the floor of the maxillary sinus apical to tooth 18, which may slightly impede a sinus lift procedure in this region.

Clear right maxillary sinus

These sagittal cross-sectional images demonstrate that the right maxillary sinus is clear and free of pathology.

6. Potential erosive lesion in the right middle ear

The head of the malleus and the short crus of the incus bone are not visualized in the right middle ear. The right middle ear also appears to be partially filled with soft tissue attenuation. These findings could suggest the possibility of an erosive lesion in the right middle ear, such as a cholesteatoma. It should be noted that this region of anatomy is located at the edge of the field of view, which is susceptible to imaging artifacts. However, referral to an ENT specialist may be considered to substantiate this interpretation, especially if the patient reports any conductive hearing loss.

7. Moderate cervical degenerative joint disease

Osteophytes and subchondral sclerosis are present in the articulating regions of the Atlas and dens of the cervical vertebrae. This is an incidental finding that is suggestive of moderate cervical degenerative joint disease.

8. Dense bone island in C3 vertebra

A dense bone island is present in the body of the C3 vertebra. This dense bone island demonstrates no effects on its surrounding structures. This is a non-significant incidental finding.

9. Elongated styloid processes

The styloid processes are elongated bilaterally. This is an incidental finding with no significance.
