1. Cemental dysplasia at site 48

These orthogonal cross-sectional images demonstrate the mature focus of cemental dysplasia that is present in the posterior right mandibular body at site 48. This entity has not had any significant effects on the surrounding structures. The internal structure of the lesion is radiopaque and the periphery is composed of a radiolucent rim surrounded by a sclerotic bone. The superior cortex of the right mandibular nerve canal is positioned 1.2mm apical to this entity. No treatment is required.

2. Cemental dysplasia at site 38

A well-defined, sclerotic radiopacity surrounded by a radiolucent rim is present within the edentulous 38 site. This reflects another site of cemental dysplasia. No treatment is required. The superior cortex of the left mandibular nerve canal is positioned 1.4mm apical to this entity.

3. Cemental dysplasia in mandibular incisor region

There are ill-defined granular bone foci around the periapical areas of the anterior mandibular teeth. The buccal and lingual cortices are slightly expanded, but remain intact. This is suggestive of periapical cemental/osseous dysplasia associated with the roots of the anterior mandibular teeth. No treatment is needed. Periodic radiographic follow up is recommended.
