1. Benign unilocular lesion preventing eruption of tooth 37
A well-defined unilocular radiolucent cystic entity with a corticated periphery is present in the coronal region of tooth 37. This entity has marsupialized to the alveolar crest, and is also continuous with the follicle surrounding the crown of tooth 37. The radiolucent lesion has prevented the eruption of tooth 37. Based on its effect upon tooth 37, the lesion may represent a benign tumor such as an ameloblastic fibroma. Excisional biopsy is recommended.
Left mandibular nerve inferior to tooth 37
Patient motion artifacts are present in this imaging volume, which reduce the diagnostic accuracy of this report.
Tooth 37 is vertically oriented in the mesiodistal dimension. The residual follicle surrounding the occlusal surface of the crown of the tooth is hyperplastic. Root formation has not yet commenced.
The left inferior alveolar nerve canal passes inferior to tooth 37, and is severely compressed in this region.
The adjacent tooth 36 does not exhibit caries, resorption, or displacement.

These axial cross-sectional images of tooth 37 demonstrate the inferior passage of the nerve relative to tooth 37.
Mesiodistal views of posterior 3rd quadrant
These mesiodistal cross-sectional images of the posterior 3rd quadrant demonstrate the vertical orientation of tooth 37 and the hyperplastic residual follicle surrounding the occlusal aspect of the crown of the tooth. The adjacent tooth 36 does not exhibit caries, resorption, or displacement.
Unerupted tooth 27
The crown of the unerupted tooth 27 is vertically oriented, and is positioned distal to the middle third of the distobuccal root of tooth 26. Root formation of tooth 27 has not yet commenced. The residual follicle surrounding the crown of the tooth appears normal. No signs of ankylosis are present. An enamel defect appears to be present on the crown of tooth 27. No further comments can be made due to the motion artifacts present in this imaging volume.
