Evaluation of mandibular implant sites
Adequate bone exists for implant placement at site 47. Marginal bone levels are present at sites 46 and 35. Inadequate bone is available at sites 45, 36 and 37.
1. Widened PDL space on tooth 45D
The periodontal ligament space on the distal surface of tooth 45 is slightly widened.
2. Degenerative joint disease in right TMJ
A subchondral cyst is present within the right condylar head. An osteophyte is present on the anterior surface of the right condylar head and the joint space is narrowed. The articulating surfaces of the right temporomandibular joint exhibit sclerosis and flattening. Joint mice are present anterior right condylar head. This appearance is suggestive of moderate degenerative joint disease in the right temporomandibular joint.
3. Synovial chondromatosis and degenerative joint disese in left TMJ
Multiple large discrete calcifications are present on the posterior surface of the left condylar head. These entities represent synovial chondromatosis. Degenerative joint disesase is also present in the left temporomandibular joint.
4. Localized right maxillary sinus mucositis
Localized mild mucositis is present on the lateral wall of the right maxillary sinus. This is an incidental finding with no clinical significance.
