1. Midline unilocular cyst in anterior maxilla
A unilocular cyst is present at the maxillary midline. This cyst has slightly splayed the roots of teeth 11 and 21. This cyst is not continuous with the nasopalatine duct and is therefore not a nasopalatine duct cyst. The root apices of teeth 11 and 21 appear normal, which suggests that this cyst does not originate from teeth 11 or 21. This entity likely represents a unilocular odontogenic cyst or cystic tumor such as an odontogenic keratocyst or a midline developmental cyst.
Axial views of anterior maxilla
These axial cross sectional images demonstrate the buccal position of the midline cyst in the maxillary alveolar process. Note the separation of this cyst from the nasopalatine duct, as well as the absence of any damage to teeth 11 and 21.
2. Maxillary sinus mucositis
Moderate mucositis is present in both maxillary sinuses. This is an incidental finding with no clinical significance.
