INTRODUCTION
The Government of Canada recently introduced the Canada Dental Care Plan. The government has provided oral care providers with the options of opting in to the plan, direct-billing Sun Life, or not participating in the plan.
CANARAY'S POLICY
Canaray has never accepted any insurance of any type and has never had a direct relationship with any insurance provider.NO CDCP PATIENTS WILL BE SEEN AT CANARAY
Canaray will not be accepting any CDCP patients under any circumstances and will never direct-bill Sun Life (the CDCP insurer) on behalf of CDCP patients. All patients of Canaray will continue to be direct-billed. This is a condition that all patients must accept in order to obtain services from Canaray.
MANY CANARAY SERVICES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CDCP ANYWAY
The CDCP fee guide does NOT cover CBCT (cone beam CT scans), cephalometric images, digital impressions or surgical guides. The vast majority of Canaray's work pertains to CBCT scanning. CDCP-eligible xray services are typically the types of simple regular xrays that a person would receive at their dentist's office.
